Western Lithium Appoints Sr. VP, Project
Development To Advance Its Lithium Chemicals Project in Nevada

Reno, Nevada, USA: Western
Lithium Corporation (TSX-V:WLC) is pleased to appoint Silvio
Bertolli as Sr. Vice President, Project Development, to guide the company
through the next planned stage of engineering and development. Silvio is
a chemical engineer with over 37 years of experience in project management,
process design and technology development in the chemicals, petrochemicals, mining
and oil and gas industries.
Silvio has been working as a consultant to Western Lithium, overseeing the
preparation of Western Lithium’s scoping study by URS Corporation. Work
on the scoping study is nearing completion, with results targeted for public
release early in January 2010.
“As Western Lithium enters the next phase
of development at its lithium project in Nevada, Silvio will play a key role to
lead our engineering and development team towards planned large scale
production of battery grade lithium carbonate,” said Jay Chmelauskas, Western
Lithium’s President.
Silvio has held various technical and
executive positions at U.S. and international operating companies and major EPC
(engineering, procurement and construction) contractors, such as the ENI Group
of Companies, Agip SpA, Snamprogetti, Westinghouse Electrical, CF Chemicals and
Washington Group International. His experience includes engineering
design, construction and operations; project development; economic analysis;
technology development; product marketing; project financing; and business
development.
Western Lithium is developing the Kings Valley, Nevada lithium deposit
into potentially one of the world’s largest(1) strategic, scalable and reliable
sources of high quality lithium carbonate. The Company is positioning
itself as a major U.S.-based supplier to support the rising global demand for
lithium carbonate that is expected from the increased use of mobile electronics
and hybrid/electric vehicles.

Instrument 43-101 resource estimate for the envisioned initial stage of
development. The current resources are part of the historical estimate of
11 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) prepared by Chevron
Resources and ranks in size behind deposits in Chile (32 million tonnes LCE),
Bolivia (29 million tonnes LCE), North Carolina (14 million tonnes LCE) and the
