Ascent Resources (AIM:AST)
Ascent Resources plc is a European oil and gas exploration and production company. Since commencing operations in 2005, it has built a portfolio of some twenty oil and gas projects across Europe.

Ascent Resources operates only in Europe where it enjoys the multi-fold benefits of, highly profitable oil and gas development projects, well developed infrastructure with deregulated local market access and political and financial stability.

Recently Ascent Resources plc revealed its plans to buy a 22.5% interest in an Italian drilling contractor Perazzoli Srl to give Ascent priority access to rigs. Ascent have over 20 projects in their portfolio and the seven wells drilled to date have been from four of these projects. The next wells Ascent are planning to drill are deeper and target more prospective and substantially larger plays. Taking a strategic interest in an Italian drilling company could pay dividends in the scramble for rigs.

Ascent Resources will generate and maximise value initially by proving and upgrading reserves through an active drilling programme, then, by building production cash-flow through development of reserves.

Landore Resources Article

Landore Resources (AIM:LND)
Landore is a mining company with its present operations focus being mineral exploration in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick, Canada. Landore’s principal properties are the “Junior Lake Property” and the “Miminiska Lake Property”, both located in the Thunder Bay Mining District, Ontario, Canada. Landore also owns other properties in Canada and Nevada in the US containing gold and base metal drill intersections.

Landore is best known for exploring and developing its Junior Lake Nickel Project in Canada. The company increased its land holding in June and the Junior Lake area properties now extend over a strike length of 28 kilometres.

At Junior Lake a 16,000m drilling programme designed to extend currently inferred resources, of 14,300 tonnes of nickel, has been successful and is nearly complete. Infill drilling is also underway to increase the indicated resource. Drilling has consistently intersected multiple and wide zones of resource grade nickel mineralisation, with some drill results still to be reported. A new and increased resource calculation will be carried out by the company’s consultants and due by end of December 2007 latest.
