Brigadier Gold (TSX-V: BRG) Begins Drilling
at Hunter Mine
Program to test down-plunge extension of high-grade shoot at
past producer located adjacent to the Dome Mine
Brigadier has
an option to acquire, from ValGold Resources Ltd., an up to 80% interest in the
Hunter Gold Mine. Gold mineralization occurs as a high-grade shoot within a
mineralized horizon up to 15 metres thick, over a strike length of 470 metres
and to a depth of 200 metres as defined by drilling and underground work.
Importantly, the mineralization is open both along strike to the north and
south, and to depth.
The high-grade
shoot, which extends from surface, has an indicated horizontal or strike length
of 68 metres and an average grade of 10.3 g/t gold over a width of 1.3 metres,
and can be traced down-plunge for 300 metres. Previous drilling indicates that
the high-grade shoot persists to a vertical depth of 150 metres, with
intersections including 44.16 g/t over 1.13 metres, 25.68 g/t over 1.0 metres,
18.24 g/t over 1.53 metres, 15.77 g/t over 1.55 metres, and 11.44 g/t over 1.6
metres.
Brigadier has
seven initial diamond drill holes planned as follows:
•
Four holes to test the continuation of the length,
width and grade of the main ore shoot mineralization down the 30 degree plunge
to the north.
•
Three holes to test a favourable horizon to the southwest and on
strike with the Dome Super Pit where there is no record of previous drilling.
“The Hunter Mine property
is an excellent asset with significant upside potential both in the mine itself
and elsewhere on this under-explored property,” said Herb
Kokotow, President. “This first phase of drilling by
Brigadier is designed to give us a better understanding of the Hunter
mineralization and to identify targets for further drilling.”
Exploration at
the Hunter Mine is being supervised by Dr. Derek McBride, P.Eng., Brigadier
Gold’s Senior Geologist and a qualified person under National Instrument
43-101. Dr. McBride has reviewed and approved the contents of this news
release.
