Yorbeau Begins its 2007-2008 Drilling Program
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 23, 2007) - Yorbeau Resources (TSX:YRB.A) is pleased to report that its 2007-2008 drilling campaign has begun. This third phase drilling program on the Rouyn property will total 15 000 meters and has two main objectives: 1) to increase the resources calculation and 2) to target new gold structures. The drilling program will consist of 5 000 meters of definition drilling on the Augmitto block below and above levels 6 and 8 where the bulk sampling program is being targeted and 10 000 meters of exploration drilling to the west of hole 07-S-418, at depth below the intended bulk sampling area and to the east on the Cinderella and Lac Gamble blocks. One drill rig is currently mobilized on the Rouyn property and has begun hole 07-S-426, the first in a series of 31 definition drill holes. The drilling depth of the definition holes will range from 50 m to 325 m. The expected drilling rate will be between 65 m to 100 m a day depending on drilling depth. The specific objectives of the definition hole drilling program are as follows: 1) to generate additional grade data that will be used in our resources calculation; 2) to fill in gaps in data (geology and grade) used in the historical resources calculation; and 3) to better understand the nugget effect in the intended bulk sampling area. A pumping test of 10 000 m3 of water is scheduled for mid-August and will be conducted from the shallow depth ventilation raise near the ramp. This pumping test will allow the testing of the new water basins and the fine tuning of the water treatment plant and final effluent monitoring equipment. In addition, the rehabilitation of 300 m of ramp down to level U-130 will be conducted allowing for the collection of strategic geological and structural information and the gathering of important information on the quality of the underground infrastructure which has been flooded for 20 years. In the meantime operational progress continues. The construction of the dry, locker and shower rooms has been completed and the installation of an electrical sub-station near the ramp is underway. The water treatment plant is currently being assembled and completed with appropriate instrumentation as the reactor tank was delivered on site last week.
