Uranex Bolsters Management Team

Uranex
NL (ASX:UNX) advises the company has today made a number of important executive
appointments as the company progresses the development of its uranium assets in
Tanzania and Australia.
Executive
Director Mr Geoffrey Wallace will today assume the position of Managing
Director, replacing Mr George Kenway who has retired but will continue to be a
Non-Executive Director of the Company.
Geoff
has been an Executive Director of Uranex since its incorporation in July 2005. Mr
Wallace is relinquishing his position as Executive Director and Company
Secretary of Goldstream Mining NL. A Goldstream representative director will be
appointed to the Uranex board in due course.
Departing
Managing Director George Kenway said Mr Wallace’s long-term knowledge of
Uranex will be important for shareholders and the company’s development
moving forward:
“Geoff
is well equipped for the position of Managing Director having extensive
experience in financial and corporate business in the sector. We have worked
closely for a number of years and I wish him well with the future opportunity
of leading Uranex on a day-to-day basis,” Mr Kenway said.
Mr
Rob Edwards, Exploration Manager,
has also been appointed an Executive Director responsible for exploration,
development and new project generation. Mr Edwards was responsible for
assembling the Company’s extensive uranium portfolio.
Mr
Kim France has been appointed Company Secretary, replacing Mr Geoffrey Wallace.
Mr France
is currently Chief Financial Officer of the Company and will continue in that
role.
The
Uranex Board now comprises two executive directors and three non-executive
directors. Mr Terry Ward continues as Non-Executive Chairman and has extensive
experience in development, operations, and marketing. Mr Lloyd Berrey continues
as Non-Executive Director, having many years experience in the mining industry.
Lloyd is also Chairman of the Audit Committee. As Non-Executive Director, Mr
Kenway will assist the Company in furthering its corporate development
strategy.
The
Board of Directors is well equipped to achieve the objectives of the Company to
grow shareholder value through the exploration and development of its uranium
assets.
Geoff
Wallace said “The Board wishes to thank George for the important role he
played in the formative stage of the Company. We are delighted that he will
continue to contribute to the future growth of Uranex”.
