HOUSTON (AP) _ Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. (COG) on Friday reported a loss of $292.8 million in its fourth quarter.
The Houston-based company said it had a loss of 63 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 1 cent per share.
The results matched Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 14 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 1 cent per share.
The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $316.5 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $355.6 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $417.1 million, or 91 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $1.16 billion.
Cabot shares have decreased almost 4 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased roughly 6 percent. The stock has increased 17 percent in the last 12 months.
