Centerra Gold Announces Casualty at the Kumtor Mine
TORONTO, CANADA - January 25, 2016 - Centerra Gold Inc. (TSX: CG) regrets to report a fatality at its Kumtor mine in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The individual, a mill employee, was fatally injured while working on the night shift January 24, 2016 at the ore conveyor in the Kumtor mill. An internal investigation has been started and the Kyrgyz police and relevant regulatory authorities have been contacted. Kumtor management is cooperating with the Kyrgyz regulatory authorities to determine the cause of the accident.
