Adriana Resources Inc. ("Adriana" or the "Company")
- (TSX-V: ADI, WKN: A0F7EL) is pleased to announce that diamond
drilling has resumed on the Company's 100% owned Lac Otelnuk Iron Project
in the Labrador Trough, Qubec. All of the drill results, assays and
technical data from the 2007 drill campaign are compiled and will form the
basis for drilling in 2008.
In 2007, the Company completed 27 diamond drill holes totaling 2,191 meters
on the South Zone of the Lac Otelnuk Iron Deposit. Results from the
drilling indicate good lateral continuity of the iron formation and a
significant increase in stratigraphic thickness as compared with drilling
in the 1970's. The 2008 diamond drill program will focus on completing the
remaining 40 holes (approximately 4,000 meters) required to test the
9,000-meter strike length of the South Zone; as recommended by Watts
Griffis and McOuat Limited ("WGM"), a Toronto-based firm of independent
consulting geologists and engineers contracted by Adriana to act as
technical consultants to the project.
The diamond drill program is designed to define a National Instrument
("NI") 43-101 compliant inferred mineral resource estimate on the
South Zone of the Lac Otelnuk iron deposit. Upon completion of drilling the
South Zone, drilling will focus on extending the strike length of the
deposit towards the North Zone, probing the limits of the deposit to the
southeast, and testing other related magnetic anomalies. The Company
recently staked 123 new claims totaling 5933.82 hectares in and around the
Lac Otelnuk Project, bringing the total land position to 36,678.63
hectares.
"The Lac Otelnuk Iron Project is proving to be a significant iron
formation. Recent drilling indicates that the mineralized zone is
considerably thicker than indicated in the 1970s," commented Michael
Beley, President of Adriana, "We look forward to the continued
development of the Lac Otelnuk Iron Deposit as we seek to outline a NI
43-101 compliant resource. Lac Otelnuk could become a long term strategic
asset for the world steel mills as a high quality magnetic concentrate for
pellet feed."
The attached Table, "Lac Otelnuk Project - 2007 Drill Summary"
contains the weighted average grades of the stratigraphic sub-units of the
formation on the basis of an 18% Davis Tube Weight Recovery (DTWR) cut-off
grade. Iron (% Fe) and silica (%SiO2) values for both head sample and
magnetite concentrate are provided. Assaying was carried out by SGS Minerals
and Midland Research Laboratories under Quality Control / Quality Assurance
procedures prepared and audited by WGM. For further information and a copy
of the "Drill Hole Location Base Map" and "Lac Otelnuk Drill
Hole Program" drawings please refer to Adrian's website at:

Mr. Frank Condon, Professional Engineer, and Adriana Director, is the
Qualified Person as defined in NI 43-101, for the Lac Otelnuk Project. Mr.
Condon has reviewed the technical data disclosed in this press release.
About Lac Otelnuk Iron Project
The Lac Otelnuk Iron deposit is a Lake Superior type iron formation or
taconite identified over a strike length of approximately 25 kilometers
based on exploration drilling (36 holes) in the 1970s and geological and
geophysical mapping. The deposit is similar to the taconite deposits of the
Mesabi Iron Range in northern Minnesota, where iron mining occurred for
over 100 years and continues to expand into the future.
The Lake Superior type iron formations are banded sedimentary rocks
composed of iron oxides, magnetite and hematite within chert. The Lac
Otelnuk deposit is exposed at surface and dips gently to the northeast at 4
to 5 degrees eventually plunging under a cherty carbonate cap rock. The
southwest flank of the deposit outcrops over the entire strike length. The
South Zone is open along strike in both directions and down dip,
constrained only by the increasing depth of the cap rock and overburden to
the northeast.
Pilot plant test work done in 1977, at Lakefield Research, on a 21-ton bulk
sample collected from the upper units of the North Zone of the deposit,
indicated that the iron formation is amenable to conventional magnetic
separation technology, yielding a good concentrate of 68.5% iron with a
silica content of 3.5%, suitable for pelletizing.
The Company has retained the services of WGM to provide ongoing technical
assistance through its drill program to ensure that the drilling and
sampling is conducted in compliance with NI 43-101 guidelines and to
industry standards. WGM has assisted the Company in setting up and
monitoring its logging, sampling and assaying protocols.
WGM prepared the initial NI 43-101 technical report on the property and
consequently is very familiar with the mineralization on the property. This
report titled, "A Technical Review of the Lac Otelnuk Iron Property,
Labrador Trough Northeastern Quebec for Adriana Resources Inc.", can
be viewed at www.sedar.com (file date December 1, 2005). In the report, WGM
quoted a "resource" of 623 million tonnes with 33.92% soluble
iron and 25.08% magnetic iron within the North Zone and 1.145 billion
tonnes of 33.06% soluble iron and 25.76% magnetic iron in the South Zone.
The reader should be aware that these historic "mineral resource"
estimates were prepared prior to the implementation of NI 43-101 and WGM
has neither audited these estimates nor made any attempt to classify them
according to NI 43-101 standards or the Council of the Canadian Institute
of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum definitions ("CIM
Standards"). They are presented because the Company and WGM consider
them to be relevant and of historic significance. These estimates should not
be relied upon and are provided as contextual information only.
About Adriana Resources Inc.
Adriana's goal is to become a fully integrated iron ore producer through
continued development of its iron ore port facility in Brazil, through
acquisition of iron ore mineral resources in Brazil, and the advancement of
