Taranis Commences Ground Geophysical Surveys at Naakenavaara Gold/Copper Property in Finland

Lakewood, Colorado, May 28, 2009 - Taranis Resources Inc. ("Taranis") [TSX.V: TRO] is pleased to announce that it has commenced a ground magnetometer and VLF survey on its Naakenvaara Property located in Lapland, Finland.

The Naakenavaara Property is located 9 km south of the Taranis' 100% owned Kettukuusikko Project which has been the focus of considerable exploration activity by Taranis. The Geological Survey of Finland completed 41 core holes on this project which have intersected low-grade, but widespread gold and copper mineralization over a strike length of 2 km. Previous drilling has intersected up to 10.3 g/t Au and 1.77% Cu. The widespread copper/gold found at Naakenavaara is potentially related to a much larger hydrothermal system that remains un-discovered, and the objective of the geophysical surveys will be to map geological formations that are the potential source of the copper/gold.

Royal Gold, Inc. holds a 2% Net Smelter Return on the Naakenavaara property, and will have the right to earn a 51% interest by expending 200% of the expenditures completed by Taranis. If Royal Gold, Inc. does not exercise its right to earn this 51% interest by the time Taranis has expended US$500,000 on the property, Taranis may require Royal Gold, Inc. to exercise or forfeit this right (See News Release dated 08/25/2005 for more information).
