Acero-Martin Commences Scoping Study For An Initial Gold Operation at Pinaya
May 16th, 2007
Vancouver, BC
Acero-Martin Exploration Inc. (the “Company”) is pleased to announce that MineFill Services, Inc. has been commissioned to prepare a Preliminary Economic Assessment (“scoping study”) in support of the development of a starter pit at the high grade Gold Oxide Skarn Zone at Pinaya. The scoping study will provide Acero-Martin with preliminary recommendations regarding mine planning and design and a general indication of overall project economics.
MineFill will evaluate a number of development options, including heap leaching, or milling with CIL and CIP recovery of gold. Minefill will also oversee additional metallurgical studies for Pinaya targeting core from the Gold Oxide Skarn Zone. The study is expected to be complete by Q3 2007 leading to a detailed engineering and pre-feasibility study shortly thereafter.
MineFill has been selected due to its broad range of experience in projects similar to Pinaya and its track record in assisting companies of all sizes to evaluate deposits and mine plans to maximize returns. MineFill has been working in Peru since 1999 and as such they bring relevant experience and working knowledge of the current Peruvian operating cost environment. Currently MineFill is working on a number of advanced stage development projects in Peru, including Azulcocha (Zinc, Manganese, Gold), Canariaco (Copper, Gold), and Silveria (Silver, Copper, Zinc).
Mr. Donald Gee, President and CEO of Acero-Martin stated “The scoping study is an important step in the path towards initial gold production at Pinaya. We are pleased to be working with MineFill as they have considerable expertise working on similar projects in Peru.” He added “As development activities continue to advance the Gold Oxide Skarn Zone towards production, exploration will also continue to expand the larger copper rich Western Porphyry Zone to the west, and further exploratory drilling is planned for the Montana de Cobre, Minas Jorge, and Don Pedro targets, which together form a mineralized trend several kilometers in length.”
Drilling and exploration is ongoing at Pinaya. Currently, there are two rigs working on site with a third scheduled to arrive in June. Assay results will be released as they become available.
The Company is compliant under National Instrument 43-101 for the Pinaya project. Cary Pothorin, P. Geo is the qualified person responsible for the exploration program at Pinaya and is supervising the quality control and quality assurance program. A quality control program of standards, blanks and duplicates is maintained.
