Title: Messina (MMI-TSXV) Discovers 12.3% Zinc, 0.9% Lead, 1.7% Copper over 5.35 m at Long Lake

Messina Minerals Inc. (MMI-TSXV) has released results from the first four drill holes totaling 605.4 meters of a planned 2,600 meter program testing the Main Zone zinc-lead-copper-silver-gold prospect within the Company's Long Lake Property in central Newfoundland, Canada. The Main Zone is located 20 kilometers east-northeast of the Boomerang/Domino zinc-lead-copper-silver-gold mineral resources within the adjacent Tulks South Property.

Summary

The results of the four holes show the potential for further discoveries with additional drilling. There are no NI43-101 compliant resources estimated at this property. This program of additional Diamond drilling is intended to permit an estimate of zinc-lead-copper-silver-gold mineral resources at the Main Zone.

Two holes (LL07-15 and -16) have intersected thickened zones of copper- lead- and zinc-enriched mineralization at approximately 135 meters below surface.

The drilling confirms the excellent continuity of copper, lead, zinc, silver and gold mineralization from near surface to 170 meters depth.

Subintervals within the massive sulphide mineralization have high copper, lead, and zinc grades (e.g. 5.2% copper, 2.4% lead, and 17.7% zinc over 0.95m in LL07-16).

Results show thicknesses potentially increasing with depth. Additional drilling with a 'deeper' drill rig is now planned in 2008 following completion of the current 'shallow' testing program. The shallow drill testing continues.

Results

Five holes have been drilled on section 9025E (including LL07-03A reported in NR August 23, 2007). Results are tabulated below, ordered from shallower to deeper. LL07-15 intersected mineralization 25 meters west of section, on 9000E; LL07-16 on 9025E is 25 meters east of LL07-15 at approximately the same depth.

The new drilling systematically tested the Main Zone from 50 meters to 135 meters vertical depth on section 9025E. The zinc-lead-copper enriched massive sulphides are associated with abundant barite and are underlain by a regionally extensive unit of intensely altered felsic volcanic rocks containing stringer and disseminated sulphides. All holes were drilled southerly at approximately 156 degree azimuth. The true thickness of the mineralization is estimated to be 0.7 times the interval length.

The objective of the drill program is to provide sufficient density of drilling to demonstrate continuity of zinc-enriched mineralization along-strike and down-dip, and to permit an estimate of zinc-lead-copper-silver-gold mineral resources. The drill program is expected to continue through November 2007 with shallow drilling and will resume in 2008 targeting deeper mineralization.

Messina Minerals Inc. is exploring for zinc-lead-copper-silver-gold massive sulphide deposits in central Newfoundland on its extensive 383 square kilometer mineral lands, in a region known historically for its zinc resources and where the Company has outlined indicated/inferred mineral resources at "Boomerang" and "Domino". Messina's strategy is to test its properties for zinc-copper mineralization that is additive to the Company's zinc-lead-copper-silver-gold resource base.
