DRILLING COMMENCES
ON
MONUMENT PROPERTY, NWT.
April 1, 2008: New Nadina Explorations Limited
(the "Company") and partners report the Spring 2008 program has commenced on the
Monument Diamond Project in the Northwest
Territories. The property comprises three Mineral
Leases covering 7,615 hectares located on the south shore of Lac de Gras, west
of the winter road and south of the Ekati Diamond
Mine.
The project property, complete with an all season camp is
serviced weekly by fixed wing aircraft from Yellowknife, approximately 300km
south. Onsite transport of crews
and moving equipment is via an onsite helicopter and snowmobiles. An ice spur road was constructed off the
main winter road. Several loads of
fuel and supplies for the current and proposed summer program were trucked to
site during the past ten days.
The spring 2008 drill program will concentrate on drill
testing as many targets as possible from the approximately 40 untested priority
anomalies picked for potential kimberlites. Targets materialized from numerous
dogmag, ground magnetometer and airborne geophysics conducted plus various
summers till sample programs for indicator minerals. Drilling will first test water based
anomalies in the northeast portion of the claim
block.
Data collected and assessed from current ground geophysical surveys over targets should significantly help to pinpoint drill
sight setups and target locations.
There is adequate ice for vertical drilling on
water-based targets. This spring
program intends to test as many of theses target types as possible. Land based targets will preferably be
drilled in the summer program.
A small kimberlite intersection from the Genie pipe,
discovered in the last drill hole of the summer 2007 program, was too small to
provide meaningful analyses of caustic fusion Diamond content. If conditions permit this season,
drilling will provide a larger sample and test the size of the anomaly as
subsequent ground geophysics concluded that 2007 drilling did not hit the
target. The Genie is located on
land in the south east portion of the property.
A total of 9 kimberlite pipes plus several unspecified
related kimberlite dikes exist on the property. Untested targets include signatures with
both positive and negative magnetic anomalies, and weak electromagnetic
conductors, some of which are under swamps and lakes. A max/min geophysical survey is planned
for this season.
The Monument Property, located on the south shore of Lac
de Gras is owned 57.49% by New Nadina Explorations Limited, 22.11% by Chris and
Jeanne Jennings, and 20.4% by Archon Minerals Ltd. with a 2% Royalty
payable. The project is supervised
by Mr. K. R. Kivi, P.Geol., a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument
