Exercise of Warrants of Imperial Metals Corporation
 
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 28, 2007) - Imperial Metals Corporation (TSX:III) reports the acquisition of 655,991 common shares of Imperial by N. Murray Edwards, upon the exercise of previously issued warrants. Mr. Edwards now holds directly or indirectly 11,515,020 common shares of Imperial or 36.4% of issued common shares of Imperial; $9 million principal amount of debenture of Imperial or 64% of the outstanding debentures convertible into 1,048,462 common shares of Imperial; and 612,259 warrants or 95% of the outstanding warrants of Imperial, convertible into 612,259 common shares of Imperial. Mr. Edwards indicated that exercise of the warrants was for investment purposes and that he may acquire additional common shares, debentures or warrants of Imperial from time to time, depending on market conditions. Mr. Edwards has filed an early warning report which may be obtained at www.sedar.com.

Imperial is a mine development and operating company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Company's key properties are the Mount Polley open pit copper/gold producing mine (100% interest) in central British Columbia, the Huckleberry open pit copper/molybdenum producing mine (50% interest) in northern British Columbia, the development stage Red Chris property (100%) in northern British Columbia, and the Sterling gold mine (100% interest) in southwest Nevada.
