Tarsis Announces Exploration Program at MOR, Yukon
Tarsis Resources (TSXV: TCC) (?Tarsis? and ?the Company?) is pleased to announce exploration will commence shortly at its 100% owned MOR property, located in southern Yukon, Canada.
The MOR Property consists of 290 mineral claims (approx 6,000 hectares) located 35 km east of Teslin, Yukon, Canada. The property is just 1.5 km north of the paved, all weather Alaska Highway and hosts volcanogenic hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) mineralization.
Diamond drilling by Tarsis in 2007, intersected 5.46 meters of 1.20% Copper, 2.85% Zinc, 1.356 g/t Gold and 55.8 g/t Silver and 7.80 meters of 1.18% Copper, 1.52% Zinc, 1.256 g/t Gold and 52.2 g/t Silver. Holes MOR 07-02 and MOR 07-03 contain significant gold and copper intervals, 2.54 meters grading 2.02% Copper as well as 2.47 g/t Gold and 2.49 meters grading 2.53% Copper as well as 2.53 g/t Gold respectively.
The 2009 exploration program will include the collection and analysis of lithogeochemical samples, where trace elements are analysed to determine proximity to the source of the mineralization on the property. In addition, further prospecting, mapping and ground gravity surveys will be undertaken.
President and CEO Marc Blythe stated ?During 2008 we carried out a small gravity survey on the property and two anomalies appear to correlate well with known massive sulphide intersections from previous drilling. We plan to carry out a larger gravity survey this year over airborne Versatile Time Domain Electromagnetic geophysical targets and soil geochemical anomalies on the property to better define drill targets.?
Tarsis has applied for any been granted YMIP (Yukon Mining Incentive Program) funding for the MOR project. Tarsis may claim up to $34,150 in incentive payments, which match expenditures on a dollar for dollar basis for approved exploration expenditures.
