TANGANYIKA FILES AUDITED YEAR END 2007 FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, ANNUAL INFORMATION FORM AND NOTICE OF AGM TO BE HELD ON APRIL 24, 2008

CALGARY, ALBERTA – Tanganyika Oil Company Ltd. (the "Company") (TYK - TSX Venture, TYKS – OMX Nordic Exchange) reports that it has filed today the Company's Annual Information Form, Audited 2007 Year End Financial Statements and  Notice of Annual General and Special Meeting to be held April 24, 2008 in accordance with Canadian securities regulations.  Copies of these documents may be obtained through SEDAR at www.sedar.com.

The Annual General and Special Meeting will be held in the President's Room at the Calgary Petroleum Club, 319 – 5th Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta, on Thursday, the 24th day of April, 2008 at 3:00pm. (Calgary time) for the following purposes:

• To receive and consider the audited financial statements of the Corporation for the year ended December 31, 2007, and the report of the auditor thereon.
• To fix the Board of Directors of the Corporation at seven (7) members.
• To elect directors to hold office until the next Annual Meeting of the Corporation.
• To appoint PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Chartered Accountants, Calgary Alberta, as the auditors for the Corporation to hold office until the next Annual Meeting, at a remuneration to be fixed by the directors of the Corporation.
• To consider and, if thought appropriate, approve a resolution in the form set forth in the Information Circular authorizing a new Stock Option Plan of the Corporation.

·         To consider amendments to or variations of any matter identified in this Notice of Meeting.

• To transact such further or other business as may properly come before the meeting and any adjournment thereof.
