Gerry Bilodeau Appointed as Vice President Operations

April 29, 2008 - Toronto, Ontario - First Nickel Inc. (FNI-TSX) is
pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gerry Bilodeau as Vice
President - Operations, effective immediately. Mr. Bilodeau joined
First Nickel as the General Manager - Sudbury Operations in March 2007.

In addition to Mr. Bilodeau's strong Leadership capabilities, he has
many years of senior operations management experience with
Falconbridge/Noranda, most notably as Mining Manager at the Kidd Mine D
Project in Timmins and as Project Superintendent during development and
construction at Falconbridge's remote Raglan Project in northern
Quebec. He is experienced in all phases of underground mine operations
and has a proven track record in managing development and construction
projects and the building of effective operating and project teams.

President and CEO, William Anderson states: "This appointment reflects
the senior leadership role Mr. Bilodeau has undertaken in building our
Lockerby operation and developing a strong operating and technical
group. Over the last year, Mr. Bilodeau, with the support of our team
at Lockerby, has dramatically improved production and performance at
the mine. First Nickel sees a solid future for the Lockerby Mine and
is working on new development opportunities where Mr. Bilodeau's
contribution as a member of the Executive Management Team will be
invaluable in meeting the challenge and attaining the Company goals."
