Rupert Resources has closed on its previously announced private
placement

Rupert Resources Ltd. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that
further to its news release of April 15, 2008, it has closed on its
previously announced private placement, raising gross proceeds of
$700,000. The Company advises that it issued an aggregate of 2,120,000
units at a price of $0.35 per unit. Each unit consists of one common
share and one-half of one share purchase warrant, each whole warrant
entitling the holder to purchase, for two years from closing, one
common share at a price of $0.45 per share. A six percent finders fee
totalling 120,000 units was paid in connection with the private
placement.

All securities issued in connection with this private placement are
subject to a hold period expiring on September 7, 2008.

The funds will be used to continue the deep drilling program on the
company's Gold Centre property in the Red Lake District of Ontario as
well as for general working capital purposes.
