Revenue came in slightly below expectations, but was up 9% from a year earlier thanks to higher ad revenue and broadcast fees from networks such as ESPN. Shake Shack (SHAK) raised its revenue outlook for the year after sales surged more than 67% in the third quarter, topping analysts' estimates. Earnings also handily beat forecasts coming in at $0.12 per share. Men's Wearhouse (MW) slashed its outlook for the current quarter on weaker-than-expected sales at its Jos. A. Bank division in the third quarter as the men’s retailer moved away from buy-one-get-three promotional events. Monster Beverage (MNST) reported stronger-than-expected earnings and revenue for the third quarter. Profits jumped 44% from a year earlier as its distribution deal with Coca-Cola (KO) helped the company widen its reach overseas. ZS Pharma (ZSPH) British drug firm AstraZeneca (AZN) is buying the U.S. based biotech company for $2.7 billion dollars, or $90 share in cash. The deal will help boost AstraZeneca's drug pipeline as it loses exclusivity on top selling drugs like Crestor. Exxon Mobil climate change probe Finally - there’s trouble brewing for world’s largest publicly traded oil and gas producer, Exxon Mobil (XOM). New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is investigating whether Exxon misled the public, and shareholders, about the risks of climate change - this according to several reports.
