East Asia Minerals Identifies New Ingiin-Nars Uranium Targets And
Commences Drilling
======================================================================
VANCOUVER, B.C. -- Wednesday, August 1, 2007 -- East Asia Minerals
Corporation (TSXV-EAS) reports that it has completed a ground
radiometric survey at its Ingiin-Nars uranium project in Mongolia, and
has defined additional uranium anomalies. Drilling has begun on the
portion of the Ingiin-Nars uranium deposit contained within the
wholly-owned East Asia Minerals' tenement.
The ground Gamma Ray Spectrometric survey was completed at Ingiin-Nars
at the end of June. The grid survey included 1,269 kilometres of data,
and two uranium anomalies were identified. One anomaly, roughly one by
one kilometre, is located northeast along the trend of the historic P1
uranium resource in an area not yet drilled. The other anomaly,
roughly five by two kilometres, is in the northwest area of the
property at what is interpreted as the contact between bedrock and
Quaternary sediments. At the first anomaly, initial review has traced
the exposure of a shallow, horizontal lying sandy-clay horizon with
U-carnotite. There is a wide distribution of different erosional
levels, with thicknesses of 0.7 metres for the U-carnotite bearing
horizons. Detailing follow-up mapping and trenching is proceeding.
Drilling has begun on the northeast portion of the Ingiin-Nars uranium
deposit contained on the Company's property. The Soviet defined,
historic P1 Ingiin-Nars uranium resource reports approximately 2.2
million pounds of contained uranium (July 3 news release). This
mineralization remains open to the immediate northeast of the drilled,
main Ingiin Deposit, where Soviet-era data suggests the presence of
another mineralized body that may be as large, or larger, than the
drilled portion of Ingiin-Nars. The current drill program will test
the historic intercepts and immediate extensions.
Following completion of the Ingiin-Nars drill program, drilling will
begin at the Company's Ulaan Nuur and Enger Mongolian uranium projects
where targets have been defined.
Lionel Martin, P.Geo, the designated QP within the meaning of 43-101
has reviewed and approves the content of this release. EAS has not
verified the classification of the historic resource reference and is
not treating it as a NI 43-101 defined resource verified by a QP.
Although this historical reference of resource potential is relevant to
recognizing the potential of the Ulaan Nuur Property, it should not be
relied upon.
