JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed Impala Platinum (Implats) has amended its R3.25-billion existing debt facilities to further strengthen its balance sheet.

The debt facilities’ tenure, which was previously available until December 2017, was revised to a quantum of R4-billion, available until 2021. All other debt facilities remain in place.

The platinum miner on Tuesday said that its production guidance remained unchanged and it expected to be well positioned in terms of cash generation.

“The enhanced liquidity provides comfort that Implats is able to address upcoming debt maturities as well as the ongoing needs of the business,” the company added.
