Niobec: Proven and Probable Reserves 45.7 Mt at 0.53% Nb2O5
Elk Creek: Inferred Resource 80.1 Mt at 0.62% Nb2O5 Both using a 0.40% Nb2O5 cut-off grade
Elk Creek has a larger and richer deposit than the Niobec mine using the 0.40% cut-off
Niobec produced 4.4 million Kg of Niobium in 2010 with an operating margin of $18 a Kg for a yearly operating margin of $79.4 million
Niobec plans to triple production to 15 million Kg, and expects to increase its operating margin to $28 a Kg - $420 profit per year (based on changing their mining methods and reducing their cutoff grade to 2%)

Why Nebraska

Elk Creek is in Nebraska which is very mining friendly
The US imports 100% of its Niobium and sees it as a "strategic metal" essential for national security
Close to train, highway, water, and electrical infrastructure
Only known large source of Niobium in the US

Quantum Rare Earth recently added the Geologic, Metallurgic, Engineering and Niobium Marketing expertise to its strong board of Directors and Technical Advisory Team. Page 15-18 of the presentation

Current Work

Recently completed a $2 million 5 hole drill program
3 Niobium holes were released highlighted by 131 m of 1.02% Niobium
Contained within the Niobium zone core was TREO of .46%
These infill drill holes will potentially upgrade the Niobium resource from the inferred to indicated category
Potential for substantial tonnage and average grade increase
these new hole will provide fresh core for metallurgical testing
2 Step-out holes to further explore and define the rare-earth zone will be released soon

Why Niobium

Used as a steel alloy, stainless steel, high strength steel for bridges, buildings and car bodies
Vanadium is a direct competitor, however, twice as much Vanadium has to be used to achieve the same results Niobium does
10% annual growth in demand per year for the past 10 years
2/3 of new growth will come from the intensity growth of Niobium on steel and 1/3 of new growth will come from steel growth in general
90% of Niobium is produced in Brazil, 10% in Canada
The US import 100% of the Niobium they use and have mandated in congress finding a domestic supply
