LA MANCHAS ITY MINE UPDATE
Paris, France - December 17,
2010 - La Mancha Resources
Inc. (TSX:
LMA, hereinafter La Mancha or the Company) reports that due to the increased
agitation observed over the last 24 hours in the Zouan
Hounien region, in western Cte dIvoire, the Ity mine proceeded to the orderly interruption of its
activities. The Ity mine represents only 15% of
the Companys total gold production for 2010.
Dominique
Delorme, President and CEO of La Mancha noted: In this difficult period
for Cte dIvoire, La Manchas first priority continues to be the safety
and security of our employees and their family. To that effect, we have
cautiously decided to temporarily suspend mine operations. La Manchas
international diversification helps minimize the impact of the current
event as only 15% of our gold production comes from our Cte dIvoire
operation.
The current
situation at the Ity mine remains calm, however
further precautionary measures have been taken to safeguard all mine
assets. All the gold poured over the recent weeks was safely transported
off the mine site.
La Manchas production target for 2010 remains between 120,000 and
130,000 ounces of gold, of which 65% is produced in Australia, 20% in
Sudan, and only 15% of which is produced in Cte dIvoire.
