Brigus Gold Appoints New Vice
President, Investor Relations

Corp. (�Brigus� or the �Company�) (TSX: BRD; NYSE
Amex: BRD) announces that Jennifer Nicholson has been appointed Vice
President, Investor Relations, effective immediately.
Ms. Nicholson joins Brigus� senior management team
and will initially work alongside Wendy Yang, who will remain with the
Company through a transition period to the end of the second quarter of
2011. Ms. Nicholson, who joins the Company after serving as Senior Director,
Stakeholder Relations at Emera Inc., will be based
in the Company�s head office located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

K. Dawe, said, �Jennifer is an experienced,
high-energy financial and communications executive who will be a strong
addition to our senior management team. We have been fortunate to have
Wendy Yang lead our investor relations function over the past year, working
through the merger of Apollo Gold Corporation and Linear Gold Corp. to create

for her many valuable contributions.�
Ms. Nicholson, a Chartered Accountant (�C.A.�), has strong public company
investor relations experience and has held increasingly senior finance and
communications roles over her career. Before joining Emera, she worked as an accounting professor at Saint
Mary�s University and earned her C.A. while at Ernst & Young LLP.
Ms. Nicholson graduated from Saint Mary�s University with a bachelor of
commerce degree. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Atlantic
Innovation Fund of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia (ICANS) Council.
