ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- A federal judge did not make an immediate decision on Royal Dutch Shell's request to remove six Greenpeace protesters from a vessel carrying a Shell drill ship across the Pacific Ocean.
On Monday, six Greenpeace activists boarded the Blue Marlin, which is delivering the Arctic drill ship Polar Pioneer for staging in the Seattle area. The six boarded the ship when it was about 750 miles northwest of Hawaii, and said they have provisions for several days.
During a Friday afternoon hearing, U.S. District Judge Sharon Gleason in Anchorage heard arguments from lawyers representing both Shell and Greenpeace USA.
Gleason said she would take a day or two before deciding whether to issue a temporary restraining order. She also set a hearing date of April 28 for an injunction in the case.
