TORONTO (AP) _ Kinross Gold Corp. (KGC) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $217.6 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier. The Toronto-based company said it had profit of 17 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 1 cent per share. The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 4 cents per share. The gold mining company posted revenue of $810.3 million in the period. For the year, the company reported net income of $445.4 million, or 35 cents per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $3.3 billion. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $4.27.
