TORONTO (AP) _ Kinross Gold Corp. (KGC) on Wednesday reported a loss of $116.5 million in its fourth quarter.
The Toronto-based company said it had a loss of 9 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 4 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 3 cents per share.
The gold mining company posted revenue of $902.8 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $104 million, or 8 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $3.47 billion.
In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $3.95. A year ago, they were trading at $2.72.
