Launch of New Website and Presentation

Altona Energy Plc, the AIM listed Australian based energy company, announces the launch of its new website following the transformational joint venture agreement with CNOOC-NEI, to evaluate, with the view to develop and commercialise, Altona?s estimated 7.8 billion tonne coal resource of which 1.287 is JORC complaint, in Arckaringa, South Australia.

Altona Chairman Chris Lambert is currently in Australia presenting to a variety of institutional investors, Australian Government officials, and other key parties.  Chris is discussing the progress made throughout 2009 and the upcoming work schedule to evaluate a variety of energy projects derived from the exploitation of the coal resource, believed to be one of the world?s largest untapped energy banks; the base case being a 10 million barrel coal to liquid plant and a 560MW co-generation power facility.  The presentation that he is giving is available on the new Altona website.

Altona?s new version of its website contains information on the assets, technologies, partnerships and relationships that the Board believes will see the Company progress into its next phase of development in tandem with CNOOC-NEI.  The website address remains as www.altonaenergy.com.
