Managing Director of Semafo Guinea Elected
President of the Chamber of Mines
Montreal, Quebec, March 9, 2009 � SEMAFO (TSX: SMF) today announced the election of Mr. Mamoudou Diallo, Managing Director of Semafo Guinea, to the position of President, Chamber of Mines, during a recent Extraordinary General Members� Assembly.
�This is an important position in the new dynamics of the Guinean Chamber of Mines. This organization has evolved from a simple NGO to that of an employers' association consisting of the Guinean mining sector�s key players,� declared Benoit La Salle, President and Chief Executive Officer of Semafo. �As President-elect to this new position, Mr. Diallo will assume the role of leader and spokesperson on behalf of the entire Guinean mining sector, responsible for all government, social and institutional relations.�
Mr. Mamoudou Diallo will maintain his role as a General Manager, Semafo Guinea.
