APPOINTMENT OF COLIN STEYN AS A DIRECTOR
The Directors of Mirabela Nickel Limited are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Colin Steyn as a Non-Executive Director of the Company.
Mr Steyn is best known for his role as President and CEO of LionOre Mining International from 1999, to 2007 when the company was sold to Norilsk for over US$6 billion. He was a founding director of LionOre and was instrumental in growing the company$B!G(Bs nickel production from 2000tpa to over 36,000tpa. Mr Steyn has extensive operating and financial experience with nickel sulphide projects and a proven track record in building an international mining company.
The appointment of Mr Steyn is particularly timely for the Company as it becomes a nickel producer.

Background
Mirabela Nickel Ltd owns 100% of the world class Santa Rita nickel sulphide project and is listed on the Australian and Toronto stock exchanges. With a JORC/NI 43.101 Indicated open$B!>(Bcut resource of 130mt grading 0.60% Ni for 780,000t of contained Ni, Santa Rita is the largest nickel sulphide discovery worldwide in over a decade.
Commissioning of the Santa Rita plant and mining operations are well underway. The operation is expected to ramp-up to the full name-plate capacity of 6.4Mtpa of ore producing 26,000tpa of nickel in concentrate by September 2010. Current reserves support a mine life of at least 19 years.
