Metallurgical Study Completed On CAL Claims

VANCOUVER - Metallurgical testing on pulps of drill core samples from Callinan Mines' CAL Claims property, has been completed by Process Research Associates Ltd. of Richmond, B.C (PRA labs). The program was conducted over a one year period, and consisted of 14 lab scale tests. Core samples from the CAL claims were assayed and composited into one large sample for testing, assaying at 0.60% copper, 0.19% nickel and 0.13g/t gold.

The metallurgical test work was conducted on the composite sample from the CAL claims by PRA labs under the supervision of Gie Tan, PhD., and Frank Wright, P.Eng., qualified persons as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The results were reviewed by Doug A. Knight, metallurgist, formerly of Placer Development.

The laboratory flotation test produced a copper concentrate with a grade of 34% copper, and 2.5 g/t gold, at a recovery rate of 89.6%. The company is encouraged by these concentrate grades, and is regarding them as a substantial milestone in the ongoing development of this project.

Most of the nickel is closely associated with pyrrhotite. The nickel flotation has not yet been optimized.

A review of the geophysical surveys and the drilling completed to date has indicated that additional drilling is warranted to explore for potential downward extensions to this system.

"The source of this mineralization is magmatic and the grade of this type of mineralization can often improve with depth," President Muzylowski explained. "A further drill program is warranted. This will become part of the company's development exploration endeavors."


The CAL claims are located between Snow Lake and Thompson, Manitoba. These tests were carried out on drill core from the 2007 program (detailed results can be found in Callinan's news released dated July 31, 2007, and at Callinan.com).
