Scorpio is proud to have such a varied and experienced workforce as well as well respected leaders, and looks forward to supporting the team in their mandate to advance the project into production as soon as possible."
Scorpio's Minera Cosala Operations and Administration team will be hosting a booth at the 27th International Mining Congress in Veracruz, México on October 10 - 13, 2007. Team members attending include President, Roger Scammell; Mine Manager, Eric Vinet; Chief Geologist, Richard Roy; Chief Mechanical Superintendent, Roger Labonte; Mining Engineer, Heladio Campos; Purchaser, Gabriel Morales and Office Manager, Claudia Rivera. Eric is a Spanish-speaking graduate mining engineer with 18 years of world wide experience including Canada, Africa, Honduras and Mexico. He has spearheaded the team since July 2006. His past positions include mine manager of Breakwater's 700,000 tonne-per-year El Mochito silver-lead-zinc mine in Honduras, production engineer for Barrick's Bulyanhulu mine in Tanzania, Aur Resources' Louvicourt mine and Placer Dome's Sigma Mine in Quebec, and research engineer for the Canadian Government's Research Laboratory, CANMET in Quebec. Well respected by his colleagues worldwide, Eric will be the driving force in making the project a success.
Richard Roy - Chief Geologist
Richard is a bi-lingual professional geologist with over 19 years experience throughout North America. His past positions include Chief Geologist for Alexis Minerals' Aurbel and Lac Herbin mines, Aur Resources' Belmoral and Louvicourt mines and Placer Dome's Sigma Mine in Quebec. In addition, as a consultant working throughout Canada and Nevada, he supervised various gold, silver, copper, zinc, nickel and Diamond exploration projects. His experience will guide the company through its production stage and compliment the exploration for potential new discoveries.
Denis Boivin - Senior Geologist
Denis is a qualified geoscientist fluent in Spanish with over 16 years in exploration in open pit and underground mine exploration within North and the Latin America. His expertise covers bore hole data management, digital deposit modeling, mineral resource estimations, block modeling, grade control and reconciliation. His past projects include the Yscaycruz and Yaliyaku mines in Peru for Glencore and the El Pachon and La Granja Mines in Argentina and Chile.
