Euro markets are strong this morning, despite a downgrade of Spain by alternative ratings agency Egan-Jones. The Euro Stoxx 50 has moved ahead by better than 1% halfway through the session, though on lighter than normal volumes. This has spread west as well and is being reflected in equity index futures over here as well. We aren't getting much confirmation from bond yields, however. Yields are slightly lower in the US and Canada.. Perhaps the market is taking its time as this is a payrolls week. US and Canadian unemployment rates will be refreshed on Friday.
