We are looking at another day of equity gains across the pond, as measured by the broad Euro Stoxx 50 index. The 16 points the index is adding today makes for a rally of 21% since the lows at the very beginning of May. While it's been there for everyone to see, we will call it a stealth rally since the headlines and most pundits have been so negative on Europe. Indeed, even the TSX has managed to post an 8% gain since that time. Australia has had 10%, Japan 8.5%, the S&P500 13% and the NASDAQ 9%. Not a bad summer, really. And the TSX should have a good start today as mining and energy shares are stronger overseas.
