New Appointments to the Board of La Mancha
Vancouver, B.C. - February 26, 2007 - The board members of La Mancha Resources Inc. (TSX: LMA) ("La Mancha" or "the Company") welcome the appointments of Mr. Michel Cuilh� as Director and Chairman of the Board of the Company, Mr. William Hess as Independent Lead Director, and of Ms. Johanne Duchesne as Chair of the Audit Committee.
Mr. Michel Cuilh�'s appointment follows the departure of Mr. Tim Gitzel who resigned as Director and Chairman of the Board earlier today, following his acceptance of a senior management position with Cameco Corporation. Mr. Cuilh� has been President and CEO of La Mancha since September 2006. Prior to joining La Mancha, he occupied several senior management positions within the Areva group, including the positions of CEO and CFO of FCI s.a. in Versailles, France.
Mr. William Hess has been a La Mancha board member since December 2006. He was the founding President & CEO of the Canadian Venture Exchange (now the TSX-Venture Exchange). Prior to this, he acted as Chairman & CEO of the Alberta Securities Commission. He currently serves in various capacities on the Boards of a number of public companies.
Ms. Duchesne has been a director of La Mancha since December 2006. She holds an MBA degree and has gained extensive experience in securities law from her 18-year tenure with the Quebec Securities Commission. In 2005, Ms. Duchesne joined the law firm of Gowling Lafleur Henderson as Special Advisor, Corporate Finance.
The Board also created a Corporate Governance and Human Resources Committee composed of Mr. William Hess, as Chair of the committee, Ms. Johanne Duchesne and Mr. Marc Quesnoy.
