NEWS RELEASE, 1 APRIL 2015
NORMAL OPERATIONS RESUMED FOLLOWING HEAVY RAINS
Antofagasta plc is pleased to announce that all its mines in the north of Chile have now resumed normal operations. This follows unexpected heavy rains in the Atacama Desert where the Group's Centinela, Antucoya and Michilla mines are located. Operations had been suspended, primarily for the safety of employees and others who work at the mines, but some processing of stockpiled material was possible and continued over the period.
Although some production has been lost since the heavy rains started on 24 March, the Group will work to minimise this during the course of the year.
