Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Anadarko Petroleum (APC): An investor bought 5,000 January 90 calls for $4.75, sold 10,000 January 110 calls for $0.83 and bought 5,000 January 130 calls for $0.20. Known as a butterfly spread, the trade cost $3.29 and has the potential to earn 500 percent from a move to $110. APC rose 0.12 percent to $83.71.
Con-Way (CNW): Some 5,200 June 40 puts were bought in the trucking stock, mostly for $1.20, as investors hedged against further downside. CNW fell 1.31 percent to $39.94.
Exelixis (EXEL): Investors sold 8,200 June 3.50 calls, mostly for $0.30. Volume was below open interest, which indicates they unwound existing long positions as the stock rallied. EXEL rose 10 percent to $3.47.
