MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Apr 1, 2014) - Perlite Canada inc. (TSX VENTURE:PCI)(the «Company») announces hereby the results for its first quarter 2014 ended on January 31, 2014 (the "1st Quarter 2014").
The Company generated revenues of $1,346,247 during the first quarter ended January 31, 2014 compared to $1,302,650 during the first quarter ended January 31, 2013, an increase of approximately 3%.
The Company recorded a loss before taxes and a net loss of $23 962 for the 1st Quarter 2014 compared to earnings before taxes and net earnings of $64,568 for the 1st quarter of 2013. Loss recorded during the quarter compared with earnings recorded during the same period last year is mainly explained by the decrease of the Canadian dollar compare with the American dollar which caused a foreign exchange loss of $90,878. Without taking into account this foreign exchange loss, the Company would have recorded earnings before taxes and net earnings of $66,916.
It should be noted that the Company has sold its assets held for sale located in Baie-du-Fevbre during the 1st Quarter 2014.
