"Batch flotation testing found that primary grinding to P80's in the range of 75 -- 100 microns was acceptable. Galena required a regrind to approximately 80% passing 25 microns to improve concentrate grades. It was unclear whether a regrind was necessary for copper cleaning. Zinc regrinding was not warranted. Flowsheet development determined that similar metallurgy was achievable through bulk flotation of Cu-Pb followed by Cu/Pb separation by depression of Cu versus fully sequential Pb-Cu-Zn rougher flotation. This latter flowsheet required no additions of sodium cyanide in the process. Testing on the fully sequential flowsheet was pursued through confirmatory locked cycle testing. The following results were achieved in the best test and are presented in Table 1:"

"A Pb Concentrate grading 47% Pb, 17% Cu and 4900 g/t Ag recovered 92% lead and 70% silver while recovering 27% of the copper. A Cu Concentrate grading 33% Cu and 1200 g/t Ag recovered 47% of the copper and a further 16% of the silver. A Zn Concentrate graded 49% Zn while recovering 88% of the zinc. The Zn Concentrate contained about 6% Cu and the Cu Concentrate contained 5% Zn. It is felt that further testing may correct for the poor Cu-Zn selectivity". (Imeson, Dan.; Fleming C. Peter J. Hawley, Chairman, CEO reports, "The metallurgical test results are excellent and produced high-grade, clean copper, lead and zinc concentrates. The company's mill consultants, Genivar are conducting additional tests at SGS Lakefield with various depressing reagents to improve and upgrade the selectivity of the sulphides of both grades and recovery. The preliminary flowsheet has been designed and will be finalized once the studies are complete. The General Arrangements (GA's) for the excavation of the mill facility has been designed in advance as not to delay construction. The Company continues to accelerate both the underground mine planning, development and mill construction."
