STRATHMORE MINERALS CORP. ("Strathmore") is pleased to announce that it has obtained approval from the New Mexico Mining and Minerals Division to conduct drilling at its Roca Honda Project located in McKinley County, New Mexico. A drilling contract will be awarded to a New Mexico drilling company and all required bonding is in place. Strathmore will commence drilling in June. This program will provide Strathmore with data to support the preparation of its license application and further evaluate In-Situ Recovery and conventional uranium mining operations at the site. Strathmore will gather the required geologic, hydrologic, and baseline background water quality data to support its permit applications. In addition, data necessary to facilitate well-field design, evaluate possible conventional underground mine planning such as mine shaft placement, and additional site information, will be collected. The Company plans to install four wells that will be used to perform hydrologic pump tests and provide long-term water quality monitoring and hydrologic data. John DeJoia, Strathmore's Vice President of Technical Affairs stated, "This program marks the beginning of the redevelopment of a major uranium resource in the Grants area." Juan R. Velasquez, Vice President of Environmental and Regulatory Affairs added, "We would like to express our appreciation to the New Mexico Mining and Minerals Division for their assistance in obtaining this very important first permit. We have been very pleased with their cooperation and support in working through the regulatory process. We will continue to build on our working relationship as we move toward mining and milling operations permitting." Strathmore has already developed corporate Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, and Radiological Monitoring programs. In addition, Archaeological and Cultural resources studies as well as the Flora and Fauna surveys required to support the project have also been completed.
