Diamonds North Recovers 2911, Diamonds from 552 Kilograms of
Tuktu-2, Larger Diamonds Recovered

VANCOUVER, June 17th, 2008 - Diamonds North Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: DDN)
announces the recovery of 2911 diamonds from the remaining 551.95
kilograms of percussion drill sample collected from the Tuktu-2
kimberlite in 2007. Sample Tuktu-2B exhibits a significant increase in
larger sized diamonds including diamonds remaining on the 1.18mm sieve.
The Tuktu-2 kimberlite is located on the Company's 100% owned Amaruk
property in the Pelly Bay
Diamond District of Nunavut. The sample was
submitted as part of the company's ongoing due diligence and quality
control process and to gain additional information on the
Diamonddistribution on the Tuktu-2 kimberlite.
Tuktu-2B sample is five times larger than the original Tuktu-2 sample
(see news release NR08-13, March 13th, 2008), yet Tuktu-2B yielded
almost 10 times more diamonds on the 0.60mm sieve, 2 stones on the
0.85mm sieve and 2 diamonds on the 1.18mm sieve. This proves the
existence of a coarser
Diamond population in this kimberlite sample.
The
Diamond count for the Tuktu-2B kimberlite is 5.3 diamonds per
kilogram. Collection of a much larger sample using drill core has
begun to further evaluate Tuktu-2's large
Diamond potential.

Diamond discovery at this stage of exploration,
which is showing the same level of potential that our Amaruk project

Diamond counts, supported by
high interest mineral chemistry, tonnage potential and now larger
diamonds."

A total of 263 diamonds on and above the 0.30mm sieve from this sample
were described in detail and the majority are white, octahedral forms
with high clarity. The largest stones recovered include 2.52mm x 1.5mm
x 1.04mm; 2.00mm x 1.62mm x 1.16mm. The largest fragments recovered
measured 1.86mm x 0.68mm x 0.58mm and 1.60mm x 1.16mm x 0.60mm.
The 551.95 kilogram sample was collected from a depth of approximately
19.81 metres to 91.44 metres, where the drill ended in kimberlite. The
107 kilogram sample was collected from a depth of 12.19 metres to 19.81
metres (a small amount of kimberlite sampled from 19.81 metres to 21.34
metres was sent in for geochemical analysis).
Recent delineation drilling and ground gravity surveying suggests that
Tuktu-1, 2 and 3 are connected to form a single larger pipe.
Diamonds North has discovered 25 kimberlites to date on the Amaruk
property. Of the 22 analyzed kimberlites, more than 90% of the known
kimberlites are diamondiferous and 50% exhibit
Diamond counts that
require follow-up exploration. At least 500 compelling geophysical
targets remain to be tested on the property.
The drill cuttings were logged in secure facilities at the Amaruk field
camp by geoscientists and geotechnicians. Samples were securely sealed
in solid containers and shipped to Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC)
in Saskatoon for processing. The results presented in this news release
were obtained by SRC using their standard caustic fusion
Diamondrecovery method. Prior to standard caustic fusion, the sample was
screened using a 0.5mm sieve. SRC is accredited by the Standards
Council of Canada to the ISO/IEC Guide 25 standard for specific
registered tests. As part of an ongoing Quality Control & Quality
Assurance program, Diamonds North will conduct reviews and audits of
results.
Bruce Kienlen (P.Geol) and Graham Gill (P. Geo) are Diamonds North's
qualified persons reviewing these projects. They are responsible for
the design and conduct of the exploration programs and the verification
and quality assurance of analytical results.
