TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 13, 2011) - IAMGOLD Corporation ("IAMGOLD" or the "Company") (News - Market indicators)(NYSE:IAG)(BOTSWANA:IAMGOLD) reported an incident after 9 a.m. today involving the hoist at the Doyon Division in Rouyn-Noranda in the province of Quebec. The incident occurred during a routine maintenance exercise. There were no injuries and the damage is being assessed.

The Company's local emergency response team was immediately dispatched to the site and the appropriate authorities were notified.

The Company has launched an investigation in collaboration with local authorities to determine the cause of the incident.
