Detour
Gold Corporation (TSX:DGC
- News;
"Detour Gold" or the "Company") reports assay results for
an additional 41 holes totaling 25,889 metres (including four holes abandoned
for 695 metres) from its 2010 drilling campaign at the Detour Lake gold
project in northern Ontario. The 2010 drilling program totaled 107,003 metres
and covered the western extension of the Detour Lake open pit deposit between
section 17,460E and 18,000E on a 40 X 40 metre drill spacing.
To date, the Company has released assay
results of 170 holes totaling 90,603 metres from the 2010 drilling campaign,
which continue to indicate significant gold mineralization up to 500 metres
west of the current US$850/oz pit shell. This additional gold mineralization
is expected to positively impact the upcoming mineral reserve update
scheduled for early 2011.
All 41 holes are located west of the
Calcite Zone, outside of the feasibility study open pit. Results from 25
drill holes completed on sections 17,540E and 17,580E (one hole on section
17,620E) encountered significant gold mineralization along a 400 metre wide
zone north of the contact with the Sunday Lake Deformation Zone ("SLDZ").
The gold mineralization is found within a folded sequence of pillow and
massive flows that represent the extension of Domains 2 and 3 (which contain
over 50% of the current measured and indicated resources). Nineteen (19)
intersections have a GT (gold grade multiplied by width of intersection)
greater than 50. Of significance, hole DG-10-984 intersected 2.96 g/t (uncut)
or 2.39 g/t over 51 metres, and hole DG-10-971 intersected 1.91 g/t (uncut)
or 1.33 g/t (cut) over 70 metres, and DG-10-967 intersected 3.34 g/t (uncut)
or 2.44 g/t (cut) over 38 metres on section 17,540E.
Results from 16 holes drilled between
sections 17,780E and 18,020E (targeting mineralization from 200 to 500 metres
from surface) indicated good continuity of the gold mineralization in Domain
2 and 3. Several wide intercepts include: 2.01 g/t (uncut) or 1.87 g/t (cut)
over 180 metres in hole DG-10-972, 2.32 g/t (uncut) or 1.83 g/t (cut) over
123 metres in hole DG-10-963A, 2.06 g/t (uncut) or 1.79 g/t (cut) over 137.5
metres in hole DG-10-983, 1.38 g/t over 88.5 metres in hole DG-10-956A, 1.43
g/t over 79.4 metres and 4.87 g/t (uncut) or 3.40 g/t (cut) over 50.4 metres
in hole DG-10-978, 6.72 g/t (uncut) or 1.84 g/t (cut) over 54 metres in hole
DG-10-986, and 2.85 g/t (uncut) or 2.58 g/t (cut) over 46 metres in hole
DG-10-960.

Detour Gold's delineation program is
being managed by its Exploration Manager, Mr. Roger Aubertin, Eng., a
Qualified Person within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101. Mr.
Aubertin has verified and approved the data disclosed in this release,
including the sampling, analytical and test data underlying the information.
Samples are now prepared at both SGS Minerals Services in Garson and Don
Mills, Ontario, Canada and assayed at the Don Mills location. Analysis for
gold is done on sawn half core samples using fire assay (AA finish). Samples
with higher grade gold (greater than 5 g/t) are re-assayed using the pulp and
metallics procedures. Standard reference materials, blank and field duplicate
samples are inserted prior to shipment from site to monitor the quality
control of the assay data. For additional information on Quality Assurance
