Powertech Resubmits Dewey-Burdock NRC License Application
=======================================================================
POWERTECH URANIUM CORP. ("Powertech" or the "Company") is pleased to
announce today that it has resubmitted its in situ leach application to
the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ("NRC") for a uranium recovery
license for its Dewey-Burdock Project in Custer and Fall River
Counties, South Dakota. The Company, as noted in its June 16th, 2009
press release, voluntarily withdrew its application to provide the NRC
with some additional information in order to assist NRC Staff in
completing its acceptance review.
The original NRC application submitted on February 26, 2009 was the
culmination of two years of concerted effort in gathering baseline data
to establish background environmental conditions at its Dewey-Burdock
Project. The Company expects that these additional data presentations
will facilitate the review by the NRC technical staff and keep the
Company's application moving forward toward final approval and issuance
of a license.
Richard Clement, Powertech President and CEO, said "The Company is
pleased with the completion and the resubmission of the NRC
application. We look forward to proceeding with the review process and
will continue to interact closely with all the regulatory agencies."
This news release has been reviewed and approved by Mr. Clement,
President and CEO of Powertech, under whose direction the Company's
operations are being carried out. Mr. Clement, P.G., MSc., is a
Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
