CANADA RARE EARTHS' COMPLETES AIRBORNE GEOPHYSICAL AND STRUCTURAL STUDIES
CONFIRMS HIGH PRIORITY DRILL TARGETS
FINAL PHASE 1 DRILLING PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - July 06, 2011 - Canada Rare Earths Inc. ("Canada Rare Earths" or the "Company") (TSX Venture: V.CJC) is pleased to announce that Diamond drilling is set to commence the first week of August, 2011 on its 100% owned Goeland Rare Earth Element project within the Montviel Carbonatite Complex, Quebec.
To date the Company has completed a detailed structural study and a magnetic airborne survey of the property. Complete requisite drill and environmental permitting as well as securing road access to drilling sites are under way prior to commencing Diamond drilling on the highest priority targets on the Company's West claims.
EarthMetrix Inc. has completed the structural study of both the West and East claims, which began at the beginning of May. EarthMetrix's mission is to optimize the management of natural resources by generating precise and strategic information about the surface of the Earth; structural geology, alteration zones, and exploration targets.
Geotech Ltd of Aurora, Ontario has completed a 300 line kilometer airborne electromagnetic geophysical survey ("VTEM") of the Company's Goeland claims. The survey highlighted the definition of an important low magnetic area of approximately 4 square kilometers of the PMTV 5 carbonatite unit on the Company's West claims, which could be the most consistent of the whole Montviel complex. Geophysique Camille St-Hilaire inc. from Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec was responsible to review Geotech's newly acquired data and is providing the full interpretation of the geophysical data.
The Company has awarded Horizon SF of Amos, Quebec a contract to refurbish and build roads to secure access to the drilling sites in accordance with the existing environmental regulations.
The Company has also contracted OrbitGarant Drilling Inc. from Val-d'Or, Quebec to drill a minimum of 3500 metres of NQ core in the Company's West claims. OrbitGarant is expected to mobilize its drilling crew August 1st and begin Diamond drilling shortly after.
Finally, the Company has also retained Analytical Solutions Limited from Toronto, Ontario to design the quality control program for the assays and monitor laboratory accuracy.
The summer Diamond drill program has two key objectives: to confirm and expand historic drilling and test the true dimensions and rare earth element potential of the PMVT 5 carbonatite unit. Canada Rare Earth claims at Montviel neighbor those of Geomega Resources' (tsx.v: GMA) whose recent and ongoing rare earth discoveries have also been the focus of drilling on the PMTV 5 carbonatite unit. Canada Rare Earths and Geomega's Montviel holdings currently contain the only two known PMTV 5 carbonatite bodies at Montviel. Worldwide, carbonatite-related deposits are a major host for rare earths elements. The world's most advanced and prolific 'REE' deposits in production or development, Bayan Obo (China), Molycorp's Mountain Pass (USA), Lynas's Mount Weld (Aus), and Rare Earth Element Resource's Bear Lodge project, are all hosted by carbonatites.
Mr. Benoit Moreau, Geo and P. Eng., Vice President of Exploration for the company, is a Qualified Person for the purpose of NI 43-101 and has reviewed the geological information disclosed herein.
