Silver Quest Samples 55.3 g/t Silver in Soil at Capoose-Silver
Trend, BC
=======================================================================
Vancouver, BC - Silver Quest Resources Ltd. (SQI-TSX.V) (the "Company")
is pleased to announce the results from an infill geochemical soil
survey conducted during September on the Capoose-Silver Trend property.
The property, located approximately 185 km west-southwest of Prince
George, British Columbia, hosts three known zones of silver-gold
mineralization associated with disseminated sulphides. For more
information including maps and a detailed property description please
visit the Company's website, www.silverquest.ca.
The results from the 2008 geochemical soil survey both confirmed and
extended the historic "Silver Trend" anomaly (see News Release January
26, 2009). This northeast-trending silver-in-soil anomaly is defined by
a threshold concentration of 2 grams per tonne (g/t) silver.
One hundred and ninety-three soil samples were collected at the
Capoose-Silver Trend property during September 2009. These samples were
taken both within, and adjacent to, the grid area sampled last year.
These infill samples were collected in areas where data was sparse or
where collection was not possible last season due to wet conditions.
Of the one hundred and ninety-three samples, eighty-seven returned
anomalous results, which include:
- 87 samples assayed greater than or equal to 2 g/t silver
- 43 samples assayed greater than or equal to 5 g/t silver
- 17 samples assayed greater than or equal to 10 g/t silver
- 4 samples assayed greater than or equal to 20 g/t silver
Three of the samples with at least 20 g/t silver were collected along
grid line 9+00N; one of which assayed 55.3 g/t silver.
The results of the 2009 soil sampling survey at Capoose better-define
both the "Silver Trend" geochemical anomaly as well as other targets
within the property area (see News Release January 26, 2009). The
Company plans to drill test select targets in 2010.
Geochemical analysis of the soils was conducted by Alex Stewart - Eco
Tech Laboratory in Kamloops, British Columbia, an International
Standard ISO 9001:2000-certified laboratory. The samples were analyzed
using a 28-element ICPMS package. The Company has implemented a quality
assurance and control program to ensure that sampling and analysis of
all samples is conducted in accordance with the best possible
practices. David Pawliuk, P.Geo., is the qualified person, as defined
by National Instrument 43-101, for the Capoose-Silver Trend project and
supervised the preparation of the technical information in this
release.
