VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 4, 2011) - Yankee Hat Minerals Ltd. (News - Market indicators) ("Yankee Hat" or the "Company") announces that is has finished evaluating its successful winter drill program at the Fran Property. All eight of the drill holes contained gold and expanded the known gold zones of the Bullion Alley sector to over 700 meters laterally. A strike length of 2 kilometers was evaluated to a vertical depth of 300 meters.
The 2011 summer field season will further test surface outcrops on the Bullion Alley gold zone and, for the first time, the Company will begin exploration on the vast eastern part of the Fran Property. Previous prospecting and stream sediment sampling on the eastern part of the property has identified copper and gold mineralization associated with intrusions. This part of the property is consistent with the geology of the region, known to host significant Cu-Au porphyry-type deposits such as Mt. Milligan located only 30km to the east.

The Fran property is located in central British Columbia approximately 60 kilometres north of the city of Fort St. James. The region is well known for its abundance of large scale deposits and mines, most notably the Mount Milligan deposit which is located 30 kilometres northeast of the property and the Kemess South mine located approximately 250 km to the north. The original Fran property consisted of eight mineral claims covering approximately 4,000 hectares.
