BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- A settlement has been reached in the only case to go to trial following a 2009 plane crash into a home outside Buffalo, New York that killed 50 people.
The deal was announced Thursday in state Supreme Court in Buffalo after more than a month of testimony.
The wrongful death case was brought by the family of Douglas Wielinski (wil-IHN'-skee) against Continental Airlines, regional carrier Colgan Air and Colgan parent, Pinnacle Airlines, which operated Continental Connection Flight 3407. The commuter flight crashed into the Wielinskis' home in the suburb of Clarence on Feb. 12, 2009, killing 61-year-old Douglas Wielinski and all 49 people on the plane.
While passengers' families settled their wrongful death lawsuits, Wielinski's widow, Karen Wielinski, took her case to trial.
The amount of the settlement wasn't disclosed.
