Round Up Your Bill to Help Keep Families Warm and Safe This Winter
DALLAS - (December 1, 2015) - Atmos Energy encourages customers to make a difference this holiday season to help your neighbors stay warm and safe this winter. By rounding up your natural gas bill, which amounts to only pennies a month, you can truly embrace the season of giving this year.
'Last year, we assisted approximately 10,000 customers with their natural gas bills,' said Dan Alderson, Atmos Energy director of energy assistance. 'There is even a greater need for energy assistance this year. If all of our three million customers rounded up their bill then we could assist 90,000 customers in need.'
Atmos Energy's Sharing the Warmth program provides funds to local assistance agencies to help the elderly, disabled, veterans and families in need pay their natural gas bills. This community program, supported by our employees, shareholders contributions and matching funds, truly makes a difference throughout the communities we serve. Your entire contribution goes directly to keeping your neighbors warm.
'Rounding up your bill is simple and easy! If your total bill is $22.80 then 20 cents would go toward our Sharing the Warmth program,' said Alderson.
