ASX RELEASE 26 February 2009
SIGNING OF SHAREHOLDERS AGREEMENT
The Board of West Australian Metals Limited (WME) is pleased to announce that the Subscription and Shareholders Agreement between WME and their Namibian partner Mr
Jaco Smith and Marenica Minerals (Proprietary) Limited has been executed by all parties in Windhoek.
This Agreement secures WME?s 80% interest in the 35M lb U3O8 inferred resource at the company?s Marenica Project in Namibia. This signing was one of the conditions set by Batavia Mining Limited in respect of their proposed investment of A$1,400,000 as announced to ASX on 9 February 2009.
Work has begun on reinterpretation of the geology and resource model, with the drilling from the second half of 2008 yet to be incorporated into current resource numbers.
Tenders are being submitted for the planned Diamond drilling programme with an anticipated start in late March or April. The proposed Diamond drilling will focus on various technical aspects to provide information on structure and metallurgy. Several hard rock targets that have been identified in the current review will also be tested.
