August 27, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among the 36 equities making new 52-week lows today. Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX) dropped fractionally on Thursday to post a new 52-week low at $6.51 after closing at $6.53 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $18.43. Share volume was a third higher than the daily average of around 18 million. This week’s slide in gold prices has done nothing positive for gold mining stocks. Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (RJET) posted a new 52-week low on Thursday. Shares dropped about 7.1% to a low of $1.97 from Wednesday’s closing price of $2.12. The stock’s 52-week high is $15.36. Volume totaled nearly 4 times the daily average of around 2 million. The regional airlines has not been able to reach agreement on a new contract with its pilots. The stock closed at $85.08 on Wednesday night. Volume was nearly 4 times the daily average of around 1.2 million shares traded. The company reported earnings this morning, and offered a weak full-year outlook. Compañia de Minas Buenaventura SAA (BVN) dropped about 1.2% on Thursday to set a new 52-week low of $5.73 after closing at $5.80 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $14.82. Share volume totaled around 1.5 million shares, about equal to the daily average of around 1.6 million.
